The Globe received images from a passenger on a recent cruise ship with George and Cindy Anthony.  Here they are sporting their new tattoos.  Cindy’s displays the name “Caylee Marie” entwined with a butterfly and is located on her tummy.  George’s is on his chest and has the inscription, “My Sunshine”.  It has a girl with sunbeams streaming down on her.

Casey Anthonys Defense team filed new motions today to have Caseys indictment, death penalty and some of the check fraud charges dismissed.
In the motions they argued that the indictment against Casey Anthony included no facts upon which the charges were based.  They are requesting that Judge Strickland dismiss what they call a “defective indictment”.

The defense team claims that there are no facts to refute in the indictment so they are unable to formulate a defense.  They also claim that prosecutors are just on a fishing expedition.

Regarding the check charges, there are currently 3 charges for each of 4 checks Casey alegedly wrote from her friends checkbook.  Defense claims this amounts to double jeopardy and these extra charges should be dismissed.

Roy Kronk, the meter reader who found Caylee Anthony’s bones, is facing a major problem after being fired by Orange County.

Kronk was terminated late Tuesday after failing to attend a disciplinary hearing, according to a lawyer.

“

The termination of Mr. Kronk relates to a difference of opinion between Mr. Kronk and Orange County regarding a workplace injury sustained by Mr. Kronk in the course of his job duties at an Orange County Utilities warehouse,” said David Evans, Kronls’ lawyer “This dispute arose because Mr. Kronk’s management directed him to resume work duties after his injury, and Mr. Kronk and his health care providers did not consider it to be safe or medically appropriate to resume those duties at this time.”

Evens said Kronk is evaluating legal options relating to his termination. In the meantime, Mr. Kronk is volunteering his time to a veteran’s group in Osceola County — he is providing counseling to military veterans to help ease their adjustment to civilian life.

The discovery of Caylee Anthony’s remains was a major development in the case over the toddler’s disappearance. Her mother, Casey Anthony, is charged with first-degree murder and she remains at the Orange County Jail.

Kronk continued to report the possibility of a body to 911 dispatchers.  It was an embarassment for the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, which had searched the area and failed to find anything. A deputy was fired as a result of Kronk’s reports.

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — A Florida judge has postponed deciding whether to dismiss a defamation lawsuit filed by a central Florida woman who claims Casey Anthony damaged her reputation.

The judge in Orlando also delayed deciding whether to postpone the defamation lawsuit until after Anthony’s criminal trial on a first-degree murder charge. Prosecutors allege that Anthony killed her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee. Anthony has pleaded not guilty and says a nanny named Zenaida Gonzalez kidnapped Caylee.

Investigators believe Anthony made up the story about the nanny.

A woman named Zenaida Gonzalez claims in the defamation lawsuit that her reputation was damaged as a result of Anthony’s story about the nanny.

The Florida Bar has cleared José Baez, Casey Anthony’s defense attorney, of ethics allegations made by a private investigator who worked on the case, according to documents obtained Monday by the Orlando Sentinel.

Private Investigator Dominic Casey notified the Bar about two issues involving Jose Baez:

He had an issue with Jose Baez regarding doing something other than calling 911 should he find missing Caylee Anthony

There was also an issue with payments for his services to which Baez advised the BAR he would review invoices and discuss them with Mr. Casey.

Members of the Bar’s Grievance Committee found “insufficient evidence” that Baez did anything wrong, according to a letter from the Bar.

Help find Missing Persons

The states attorney’s office says it will be releasing “hours” of taped interviews with team Padilla.  Padilla and his crew, particularly Tracy McLaughlin, spent days with Casey Anthony after they bailed her out of jail.

There’s no telling what all is in these interviews but whatever it is Casey Anthony attorney Jose Baez tried unsuccessfully to squash them pleading to the court that Padilla was his employee and that any conversations he had with Casey Anthony regarding the case are privileged information.  Judge Strickland said negative, Padilla is fair game, after listening to the tapes himself.

Tapes will be released late this week or the following week according to a spokesperson.

Orange Circuit Court Judge Stan Strickland denied a Casey Anthony defense team request to bar California bounty hunter Leonard Padilla and his associates from testifying about conversations they had with her.

He disagreed with Casey Anthony’s defense team, who claimed Padilla and crew were an extension of legal services provided by her defense attorney Jose Baez.

Padilla’s nephew, Tony Padilla, helped post a $50,000 premium required to bail her out of jail after her initial arrest last year.

Baez argued during a hearing Friday that the Padillas and their associates, Robert Dick and Tracy McLaughlin, were acting as agents of the defense counsel and should be covered by the attorney-client privilege.

McLaughlin stayed inside the home with Casey Anthony while the others stayed outside. They drove her to and from her attorney’s office.

Casey Anthony’s father, George Anthony, testified Friday that he believed the team was there for security for his family.

“It is reasonably clear to the Court that the individuals in question were not under the supervision or employment of counsel for the Defendant,” Strickland wrote in his four-page ruling.

The team was “simply protecting their investment,” Strickland added, referring to Casey Anthony’s bail bond.

Last Friday, prosecutors provided the judge with recorded law-enforcement interviews of Padilla and the others. Strickland had planned to listen to the recordings before making his decision.

It’s unclear how damaging their statements may be for the defense.

Meet Jerry Jackson.  Jerry Jackson is an inmate that has been behind bars since 2004 on a 30-year sentence for crimes committed in 2002, including sexual battery with a weapon, armed burglary and kidnapping.  In a letter written by this nutjo dated July 22nd, 2009, he claims to know who the killer of Caylee Anthony is, and he states it’s not Casey Anthony.

According to authorities this is not the first letter written by nutjob Jackson, back in April of 2006, a then 18-year-old Jackson claimed in a letter written from behind bars that he kidnapped missing 13-year-old Ashani Creighton and killed her. However, his claims were dismissed amid a history of mental illness.

I’ve read this letter and it’s just flat out goofy.  It starts of with this “This will be the first and also the last time you will hear from me regarding this matter” then just a couple of sentences later he states “The person who killed her was a guy whose name I will not reveal at this time”

Hmmm….So let me get this straight, he’s never going to talk about it again, but at some point he may talk about it to reveal who he’s talking about.  Whatever, nutjob enjoy your 30 years in the tank.

Jail officials said neither law enforcement involved in the case nor Casey’s defense has visited him.  Damn!!!  Probably not the reaction he was expecting.  Sad thing is if the state doesn’t go visit this nutjob, the Anthony defense team will probably bring it up in court to show that prosecutors weren’t even following up with leads that didn’t point towards Casey Anthony.  I suspect at some point they’ll pay him a visit to at least discredit him in the future should they need to.

A small win for prosecutors in the case against Casey Anthony. The judge will let the prosecution take pictures of one of her tattoos.

The tattoo says “Bella Vita,” which is Italian for beautiful life. Prosecutors believe Casey got the tattoo after Caylee disappeared. The judge in the case against Casey Anthony will also hear more motions next Friday August 21st.
