The grandparents of the 3-year-old Florida girl who has been missing since June held a candlelight vigil on Sunday evening as part of a nationwide ceremony. Cities across the country held similar events.
The Kid Finders Network and George and Cindy Anthony, the grandparents of Caylee Anthony, hosted the event at the Eastside Baptist Church in Orlando.
During the vigil, new photographs of Caylee were shown to those who attended in both a slide show and a video presentation.
“I’m still in shock,” George Anthony told FOX 35 in an interview following the event. “Everyone keeps saying I should see someone to talk to. Maybe I will eventually. Maybe I will tomorrow.”
Anthony also expressed concern over investigators’ lack of interest in a possible Caylee sighting. In recent days, cell phone pictures, taken by a woman at an Orlando-area mall, show a little girl who resembles the missing toddler.
“I’m really sorry the Sheriff’s Office gave up so soon. They gave up days after, and I’m sorry about that,” George said.
George and Cindy’s daughter, 22-year-old Casey Anthony, has been charged with first-degree murder and faces life in prison if convicted of killing Caylee. She has pleaded not guilty.
The little girl was last seen on June 16, but her mother did not report her missing until July.
The toddler’s body has not been recovered.

radiogirl, interviewing them may not be all that bad. Sure, it may be irritating to read (although, honestly, I could see myself being a total basket case if I lost a child), and it may be marginally prejudicial (though the court did not think so) but it also may do prosecution a favor.
For example, Logical mentioned Cindy’s counselor’s records and testimony. Normally, this type of information is privileged – it cannot come in or be disclosed unless it is a direct subject matter of the case (for example if Cindy sued her therapist for malpractice). But, if Cindy discloses even part of that privileged information to anyone (let alone makes it public knowledge), the privilege protection is gone. So let them talk – see what they say. At this point it does not look like they can back up Caylee being alive any more than I can back up Elvis being alive, so it will not help Casey raise reasonable doubt.
I think he is stating that he’s “still in shock” to back up Cindy’s remark on the today show, that GA was “just in shock” when he told the FBI that the car smelled like human decomposition. I’m sure that’ll be there new theme and excuse for everything incriminating that they’ve said.

The media knows that the public is hungry for news on this case, and they are looking for readers/viewers. Hence, they feed the public what we crave, even when there is no news.
From looking at the photos, it appears to be quite a small gathering, . I would guess curiosity seekers would not join in the prayer circle, nor sit near the front, so actual supporters there would be a very small number, IMO.

Really, MauraL, that says it all. If you were concerned about this child being an abducted child, wouldn’t you take photos of the abductors? And if the person did, and the A’s have those photos, why wouldn’t they publicize them? Could it be that someone has the assignment of going around taking photos of little girls that may look like Caylee? Who owns the phone number this photo came from? Do you think the Anthonys, Kid Finders, or Michelle Bart would answer these questions?
If I were in these peoples shoes and my daughter caused all of this, I think I would be in shock for the rest of my life. Those people will never be ok again. I wouldn’t be.
LE Officers are trained thoroughly and repetitively so when they respond to a call, or when necessary force is used, it is second nature, like the military. LE also must have on-going training yearly to keep their certification as a peace officer active, more then Baez must complete yearly. GA knew what he smelled, and his instincts were right on. GA should have been shocked, he knew he was smelling decomposition in the trunk of his daughter’s vehicle. So, what did he do, cleaned the car and went to work. I’ve had to stay away from this case for a few days .. I can’t remember many situations that I’ve let myself get so emotionally involved regarding people that I don’t even know.
I’m a non-violent person .. and, I swear to God, I wouldn’t be able to get near Casey w/o trying to beat the living truth out of her .. I’ve never done that to anyone nor even thought about it.
I only hope that if she gets out with the general public in the prison that they only beat her till she talks and not kill her .. which is normally what happens.
I do agree that the little girl on the left of the photo in the stripped shirt looks familiar to me. She looks like the KAYLEE that was in another Caylee sighting a few month’s back. But this little one with the butterfly shirt…I don’t think she looks so much like Caylee Marie.
If I was taking that pic, I would have definitely made sure that I got a lot more pics of where they were, who the child was with… gees, I might even strike up on conversation with the other parents. (Which one is yours..? How old is she? Whats her name…… typically mom stuff…. but then again, I would have my little girl with me!)

WFTV reporter Kathi Belich received four of the emails herself, but when she realized something didn’t seem right about them she forwarded the emails to the FBI.

There is a reason AMW,Missing and Exploited children,John Walsh,Mark Klass and others have steered clear of the grandparents in this case….and thats because they have lied to law enforcement.
But I appreciate your kindness towards the grandparents Bogart.I respect their loss and pain but I do not support their attitude towards those that indeed are trying to solve this case.

I would be in a state of shock, maybe even in denial, to maintain my sanity in such a horrific situation.
While accepting the evidence they can’t honestly deny may be their wisest decision, Cindy and George instinctly know that they will suffer even more pain.
I think they deserve some mercy, some empathy,. from all of us. The truth is, none of us are perfect.

Hi Woodleigh, thats my opinion as well. When all this is over we will go on with our lives, remembering this case like Laci Petersen but Cindy will have to spent the rest of her life in this case.

I watch Nancy Grace at night sometimes & feel so bad for this little girl who’s probably not alive anymore. It’s so sad & disgusting how her mother seems to have no feelings (sociopath). Hope it get’s resolved someday. Great blog.
well i think if George can fall for the BOGUS “YOU”VE WON THE LOTTERY” scams,.he can fall for Casey’s BS and believe it. I feel so sorry for the family however, it’s sad because they seem like very nice people.
