The Orange County Sheriff’s Office exclusively told WESH 2 News that they are no longer following up on any tips that suggest Caylee Anthony is alive.
On Friday, the group Kid Finders plans to hold a press conference to explain why they think Caylee is alive. A sheriff’s spokesman said Caylee is dead and they’re moving on.
Sheriff’s Office spokesman Carlos Padilla said they are confident that FBI lab tests on evidence found in Casey Anthony’s car prove Caylee is dead. He said that is backed up by the grand jury’s murder indictment of Casey Anthony”We cannot continue to look when we have no evidence whatsover that she’s alive,” he said.
Grandfather George Anthony said his group, Kid Finders, is still getting reports of live sightings of Caylee. They have no reason to believe Caylee is dead.
Investigators said they are also concerned that if they continue to follow up on live sightings, it could help Casey Anthony’s defense establish reasonable doubt about whether Caylee is deceased.

George Anthony said he plans to act as a spokesman for the group helping him search for his missing granddaughter, Caylee Anthony. Anthony said he wants to help the Kid Finders Network get established and grow their organization in Orlando.
Kid Finders has been the subject of some controversy lately. Some have called in to question just how many missing children Kid Finders has actually found. At the group’s headquarters Wednesday, Anthony said the organization has been helpful to his family since the day after Caylee was reported missing. Anthony said he is more than willing to become a spokesman for the group. He has no doubts about their motives or sincerity.
”I’ll be a spokesman for them. I’m willing to make their organization grow and help the 14 kids my granddaughter included but other kids,” said George Anthony.
A spokeswoman for Kid Finders has taken issue with recent reports that they have not actually found a missing child. She said they do things to raise awareness like print up fliers and T-shirts and billboards. She said that it is very possible that their efforts have helped find missing children

Dr. Purpur is saying they are not going to find the remains. He says that the body would be bones by now…but he does not think they will find any,
No live Caylee and no dead Caylee. Cindy will continue to believe…poor thing….
I agree, the size of a 2 1/2 yr olds bones are so tiny & fragile that with the wicked weather we have here in the State of Florida there is no telling what will happen to her bones….my guess is that they will probably disinergrate within the dirt & soil.
At least the prosecution is confident with what they have that they can get a conviction. At least we hope they have enough evidence.
Is it required that LE discuss the evidence of death with Caylee’s next of kin? This would be Casey. All I am asking is- can we assume that the Anthonys have been informed or not?

I feel sorry for any organization that has anyone associated with the Anthonys speaking on there behalf. No one believes anything they say.
GA is getting too involved with KFN. I’d rather seen him start his own organization than to hook up with that criminal, Milstead.

If support is what the Anthonys are looking for, they surely have no clue about how to gain it. They have a new spokesperson Michelle Bart with Kid Finders that wants her 15 mins of fame now…things changed when she became involved ….calmed Cindy down making her look more creitable to the public.

Very observant of you. I thought it looked different, but never went to compare the photos. You know, KC was working to manipulate all those around her and if she was afraid of anything, it is that she would spend the rest of her life in jail. There was an execution here a few days ago. That man was in prison 14 years before he was executed.

I have pictures of my family up more then most do, and they could not hold a candle to the ones that we saw in the Anthony house tonight. I don’t think anyone would really have that many pictures of their child (grand child) up in a home.
I can’t understand why Casey won’t give a little hint to where Caylee is…….if for no other reason to butter her own bread.

Just my personal feeling is I’m glad LE is going to stop searching for a live Caylee. I hate to say it but Caylee is dead. Decompostion was not a PIG or a SQUIRREL aor a SKUNK or HAMBURGER or PIZZA. Cheese pizza or a sandwich would not smell like decomposition like that jackA__ Dr. Henry Lee would have us believe. He doesnt believe it either. I’m an really getting sick of tha anthonys. Excuse me for saying so but every time I see a post that says but what if Crazy did leave her with someone????????? She did not leave her with anyone. She put her in a trash can or buried her. EXACTLY……Same as the Anthony’s……
We did not hear of a gag order lately, but it seems that the newly released statement from LE will put a lid on the garbage the Anthony’s put out there. I am glad they made that statement.
I like this, it is very possible their efforts have assisted in finding children. They don’t know. That is bs, they know their organization has not assisted in the “find” of a child as of date, or they would have that info and promote it often, especially now.
Renee- I agree it is time for a gag order. I wonder if it is more difficult to issue a gag order in Florida then Texas due to the Sunshine Law. In Texas, District Judges do not have to wait until a hearing and request by the state or defense to issue such, they often do from the start of high profile case on their own. If indeed The Judge has the authority to issue a gag order on his own in Florida, what is the hold up. Is he enjoying the spotlight as well, as limited as it as been?
From what I read, it appears the hard evidence that Caylee is alive will only be sightings. Will be interesting to read what their theories are. With all the publicity about the press release, will the end results only make people question the Anthony’s credibility further?

If I saw Caylee (and everyone has her face indelibly etched in their mind’s eye), I would approach her and whomever she was with and detain them while calling the authorities and taking a picture. How can anyone believe people see her and call in a “tip” to CA while allowing the child to leave their presence??!!
I don’t understand the tip thing, either, Genevieve. If you saw a child who looked just like Caylee, and the circumstances seemed peculiar…wouldn’t you call the local authorities and follow these people? Why would anyone call the Anthonys? It’s just stupid…makes no sense. I don’t think their tip line goes to any law enforcement agency….I think it goes directly to them.

That has been my point all along. No way I would let those people go. I would cause the biggest scene you have ever seen in your life. So I believe the anthony’s are falling for this bogus tips or making them up to put doubts in tne minds of people.
They shouldn’t say Caylee sightings. They should say child sightings that could possible by Caylee. There have been no Caylee sightings. Every single lead they have followed up on has been some other child. With the exception of the little girl named Kaylee.
I know…You wouldn’t start saying that is Caylee Anthony, Missing child. You will not leave here until the police arrive. Or better yet, before you approached them, you would call LE and then you would make sure you tailed them until the authorities arrived. I would make a scene. Start yelling, CAYLEE ANTHONY, KIDNAPPED CHILD, CAYLEE ANTHONY….it would be a recovery, not a sighting.
