Caylee Anthony Day by Day Since the Begining of The End

Audio Of George Anthony Released

Friday, authorities released audio of the George Anthony taped interview conducted at the Orange County Sheriff’s Office on July 24, 2008.

photo_servlet222In the sit down interview with the two men leading the investigation into Caylee’s disappearance, among the things Anthony told detectives was that his daughter’s trunk smelled like there had been a dead body in there. He went on to ask them if they found something to let him know because he’d want to be the one to break the news to his wife Cindy and son Lee

    hello?

  2. hockeyma says:

I’m listening to the audio now. havent had a chance to read all the docs released

  3. hockeyma says:

listening to George, I feel so bad for him. Reading is one thing, but listening to the stress in his voice is another.

  4. Logical says:

It was gut-wrenching enough for me to read, I really don’t think I can listen to it…….

  5. hockeyma says:

Loigical – oh, it is!! I am excited for tomorrow, but yet it has my stomach in knots too – I just want closure for everybody. Everybody needs that.

  6. mia says:

Logical.. I agree. I started to then stopped it. I’m startin’ to realize I’ve gotta leave some room for these people… it feels a little like bein’ way too interested when you drive by the scene of an accident. I hope they find baby caylee soon and move on towards justice.

  7. Kim says:

I haven’t read through all the newly released pages…but listening to the tape–GA said that absolutely does not like Jose Baez.

Even before I saw this thread posted, I noticed that the audio had been posted on this blog, so I was starting to listen when I saw this post. I learned a couple of things that made things a little clearer, both having to do with George’s work schedule:

    (1) The reason George didn’t accompany Cindy and Caylee to see Cindy’s father at Mt. Dora was because he was working Sunday, June 15. (I had wondered about that, and of course I also wondered why Casey didn’t go as well, but that’s another discussion.) I hadn’t understood that before.

    (2) if George didn’t get home until well after 11:00 p.m., which was his usual time, it would help explain why George’s picture of the domestic situation may have appeared more serene than it actually may have been that evening. I think it can be logically assumed that the real knock-down, drag-out fight took place strictly between Casey and Cindy, and *earlier* that evening — which helps a lot of things begin to make more sense, including the neighbor overhearing heated yelling and screaming, yet having it still be possible that George and Casey (Caylee as well) were peaceable and respectful toward one another in the early afternoon when he last saw them. Since I’m not that far along with the audio, I’m not sure if George may provide more insight yet, but it certainly lends better credibility to George’s comments on this than I thought previously.

Anyway, I’ll post this for now and keep listening. And good evening, all.

  9. Tim in Colorado says:

Here’s an interesting quip from George Anthony from his taped interview, talking about the evening in May when Casey ran over a construction barrier, flattened two tires and damaged her rims and had to have her car towed home:

“I said, ‘Whether you’re working late or not, you shouldn’t be’ — I couldn’t understand, if she works at Universal Studios, why do you go up the 408 to go south again? I don’t understand that. Whereas you can go Sand Lake or you can take the 528 and be there in a heck of a lot shorter period of time.”

Taking a look at the geography on Google maps, you can see that the two expressways George is referring to are both tollways. The 528 — also known as Sand Lake Rd. through quite a bit of the route it takes from Universal Studios in the southwest part of the Orlando area all the way east to the southeast part of town where the Anthonies live — is a southern route running almost directly due east and west to the Anthony home.

The 408 runs east and west also, but considerably north of both Universal Studios and the Anthony home, which are on opposite sides of town. Wanna know who lives right along it? Sure enough, Ricardo and Amy on North Glenwood Avenue, only about six blocks north of the 408. Guess who else lives a straight shot *north* (on Samoran Boulevard) from the 408 in the suburb of Winter Park? Tony Lazarro. Sure looks like George had his suspicions that Casey was lying through her teeth about working at Universal by this point.

That was fun, wasn’t it? Okay, back to the George Anthony interview.

  10. Kentucky says:

I listened for about a minute, and I couldn’t listen anymore. The heartache he is going through is unimaginable.

Let’s all take a moment to pray for God to comfort this family. And pray for their salvation, because that is most important.

  11. shyloh says:

I understand a lot more too Tim in Colorado, I feel so sad for him but I admire and respect him so much.

Another thing, “He can’t stand Baez” Now that’s a hoot. He knows that Baez may be in this just for the media sake. Cause Casey didn’t have the money. WOW!

I am listening as well to the interview.

  12. Tim in Colorado says:

Okay, here’s another map-based observation, this time about the “chase scene” of Monday, June 23.

On that day, George says he way Casey taking off from home in her mother’s car (described elsewhere as a green SUV), going up Chickasaw Parkway (which leads north right out of the Anthonies’ neighborhood) to the aforementioned 408. George says he chased her down the 408 until she got off on Hiawassee or Kirklman Road. I looked these up on the map, and they are on the *northeast end* of the Orlando area. If you take Hiawassee Road south from the 408, it will take you around a bend near Lake Hiawassee down to where Universal Studios is; Kirkland is just one exit before Hiawassee. What’s significant about this is that George literally followed Casey, whom, he says, was driving her mother’s vehicle, all the way across the Orlando area.

  13. Anthony's need2 tell the truth- says:

George is obviously afraid of Cindy George, I can tell by the way he kept asking detectives to keep this info. between the three of them ( shaking head ) George isn’t too bright,if he thought this interview would never be public.

Also… weren’t Cindy & George EVER suspicious when they hadn’t seen Caylee *BEFORE* the 31 days??? I mean George & Cindy George were raising this child because their loser daughter was too busy partying,f*cking and dancing on a stripper pole!

It still amazes me that they trusted Casey with Caylee. I wouldn’t let a skank like Casey pet sit!

  14. Tim in Colorado says:

More insight on the infamous gas can incident of June 24:

We had heard that Casey was particularly rude when she brushed past her dad, and (as in “Here’s your f***in’ gas cans!”), quickly opened the trunk, retrieved his gas cans and immediately slammed the trunk lid closed again. In the newly released audio of George’s interview, he tells Detective Edwards that Casey slammed the trunk so quickly that he had no chance to observe inside the trunk, and also that he thought the reason she had run ahead and retrieved them is that she was embarrassed about being caught stealing them and “making [him] an a**.’ A lot of people have said they thought George knew more than he was letting on about this incident, but this insight again bolsters his credibility.

  15. Tim in Colorado says:

Another quotable quote from George: “I felt for two years, my daughter hasn’t been working.”

  16. Anthony's need2 tell the truth- says:

@ Tim, if I talked to or treated my parents the way Casey Anthony treated & spoke to Cindy & George Anthony,I would have no teeth right now. Casey used her parents as a doormat,it’s no wonder she thinks she can go around stealing, lying and killing.

  17. Tim in Colorado says:

Another gem of an exchange between the interviewer and George about Casey using the computer to keep up the pretense of working:

Detective Edwards: “She goes out of her way to print things up, though, and keep that book, if she’s ever held to task. I mean, if someone asks “When are you off?” I mean, she highlights vacations and . . . ”

George: “Oh, I know, and she’s [Casey, that is] using another computer to send e-mails to her own self at our home computer or vice versa. I mean, I don’t know how she’s doing it, but yeah she’s been . . . she’s been doing some stuff. ‘Cause I even told her, I said, ‘Whenever someone sends something to somebody, either it’s printed at the bottom or somewhere in the upper right corner — maybe to the left — and it was always just not . . .

Detective Edwards: “Oh, those were the ones that Lee gave us.”

George: “The content was not proper. I’m not a computer guy, but I understand how content is, you know, HTMLs and URLs and . . . little things I know.”

So George concedes that Casey’s e-mails were fakes.

  18. Tim in Colorado says:

    Here’s more:

George says Casey’s cover story for the two-week period in which she abandoned her car and it was sitting at the tow lot (June 27 to July 15) was that she was in Jacksonville visiting Jeff Hopkins and his son Zach, and he supposed that she had the car with her.

Another whopper on the order of the Tampa car accident story with Zanny.

  19. Anthony's need2 tell the truth- says:

I just wonder if George would have made these confessions,if Cindy was there?

None of them will be free ( conscience ) until the whole truth has been told.

Casey Anthony was raised to believe that her parents were her just friends, which btw. is what’s wrong with America today :(

  20. Tim in Colorado says:

Questioning Casey on this fib, George asked her why she was driving the car when it needed an oil change and new tires, and Casey (according to communication with Cindy) replied that Jeff knew someone who was fixing the car and “putting a sensor in it.” [Think maybe it might have been for squirrel impacts? Sorry, couldn't resist.] George even said he wanted to see receipts for the work done, but he evidently never got the chance before Cindy and Amy hunted her down at Tony’s and she was arrested not long after.

  21. Brooke says:

Tim, I feel so bad for George, and in a way, I know he may have thought this would have been kept quiet, but it’s probably a weight lifted off his shoulders. Cindy is probably giving him hell…but I think in a few months, she could be facing some jail time for perhaps perjury, or lying to the authorities.
Cindy’s new lie is that there had been a stain in the trunk since they bought the car. George kept those cars meticulously and he would know if the stain had been there and wouldn’t have mentioned the stain as if it were new to him when he picked up the car from the tow yard…

  22. Logical says:

Are you seeing a theme here, Tim?

  23. Tim in Colorado says:

Another George Anthony quotable: “We’re looking at this like a 500-piece puzzle. We’ve got the edges done, but everything in the center is not there yet.”

  24. Logical says:

Truly, her lying is simply incredible.

Good night. Pray continuously for the search and the searchers.

  25. Tim in Colorado says:

Yep, Logical, I sure do. George is a credible witness. A very credible witness. And he is not perpetuating lies from either Casey or Cindy.

  26. Brooke says:

Logical, I read on another thread that you had a letter from Cindy Anthony against the blogs, reporters etc…do you still have that?

  27. Tim in Colorado says:

Amen, brother — go LP and TM! (See, I even abbreviated, just this once, for you guys!) Prayers are with you and any of our blogging friends who may be on the scene, like Joe D. Have a pleasant evening.

  28. Jeanne1807 says:

I wonder if Cindy read all of Georges words and may now know some things she too didn’t know.

She has made nice with Tim. They have agreed to disagree. She will stay out of his way and he will assist her in her efforts.

I just think maybe now that George has spoken she knows. Maybe???

  29. Tim in Colorado says:

Here, I’ll simply let the transcript (this is my transcription, by the way) speak for itself.

About the Smell in the Car

“When you guys picked up the car, what else was in the car that may not have been in the car when we inventoried it?”

“Well, you guys are aware of the smell in the car.”

“Well, I’m trying to of tiptoe around that issue, because I know it’s a sensitive one.”

“Well, I’ve just got to tell you what my feelings are: I don’t like how it smells. I’m being straight with you guys.”

    “I’m sorry . . . ?”

“I don’t like the smell in the car — I’m being straight with you guys.”

Other unidentified interviewer: “We didn’t like the smell either.”

    “I’m being straight and honest, I’m just . . .”

Other unidentified interviewer: “And we appreciate that, George, and we won’t share that with anyone.”

Edwards: “Yeah, because, um, that’s a difficult topic for you.”

“It’s tough, but, you know, stuff’s got to come out — it’s the way it is, I’m not going to hold back. You know, I mean, there’s a reality here in this thing and . . . that’s life.”

“I know, we spoke with Amy, and the only reason I say this to you is ’cause Amy’s already talked to your wife and many others. So it’s hard to keep information limited, but Amy was concerned with some of the things that your wife said on the way to pick up your daughter, about that, even. She said . . .

“See, I don’t know. I don’t know what they talked about.”

“Yeah. Well, um, and those were flags to us, where, you know, the original approach of the vehicle was even a concern — ‘to Mom’ was how Amy put it. But I’m not going to press ‘Mom’ on that issue; ‘Mom’s’ having a hard enough time dealing with some realities here that . . . ”

“Yeah, uh . . . the last couple days have been very hard for her. I mean, I went through just the last couple weeks, I mean, I’ve been hitting that wall — my body just starts to just . . . ”

    “Man . . . ”

“I was even here — just for the 9-1-1 tapes were at [sic]. I was sick as, I started to getting sicker, ’cause then they’re telling me about photos, about my daughter . . . and you know, I’m like ‘Oh, my gosh, what else is going on here?’ So . . . to be very straight.

“Well, the car, in and of itself — the odor — is its own animal, is its own issue.”

    “Right.”

Other Evidence in the Car and Shopping With Mom’s Money

“But what may have been in that vehicle at the time that we don’t have, or that may have been removed from the car — with no malice — but just ‘I’m curious,’ um . . . I know there was a couple of pairs of shoes . . . and some slacks, and a baby chair. The doll.

    “The doll?”

“Was there a diaper bag in the car?”

“I believe, in the . . . it could have been in the trunk of the car, I’m not sure if it was in the trunk or was in the rear seat area, was another one of her backpacks.”

“But not the one with the monkeys on it, that you’re talking about?”

“Not that I can — no, ’cause the one she had the monkeys was white, I’m positive of that.”

“We don’t know where that backpack is at all.”

“But I know that it was white because . . . I know she had it on her. It’s fairly new, as a matter of fact. And probably was something she purchased at Target, if I’m not mistaken. My daughter likes to shop at Target . . . with my wife’s money. [Laughs]

“Well, we’ve got several photos of her doing that . . . ”

“As rough as that sounds, guys, but it’s the truth.”

“Well, part of having kids, I guess, is dealing with that.”

    “Oh . . . yeah, that’s another issue.”

  30. BJ says:

    Poor George.

  31. Jill from Western Australia says:

God bless Tim and all those assisting in the search…POX on the Anthony family who are only out for MONEY!!!!

I look forward to the day that CASEY IS CONVICTED…what a huge load of space she is!!!

  32. lynn gellner says:

do you people pull wings off of butterflys? your hurting real people, that are in a nightmare. god bless the anthonys

  33. Tim in Colorado says:

    Lynn:

Maybe if you’d bother to read what I’ve written here, you’d notice that I’m being quite fair to the Anthonies. I’ve just said on this thread that George Anthony stands to be the hero in the case. I’ve also helped transcribe George’s interview with the Orange County detectives, which shows him in a favorable light. If that hurts George, I don’t know what might help him then. Please do not include me in your list of butterfly wing pullers.
