Deputy sheriffs recommended two protesters be charged with battery for a confrontation outside the east Orange County home of missing and presumed dead Caylee Marie Anthony, according to a report released today.
The suspects, whose names were not released, were accused of attacking grandparents George and Cindy Anthony 1:30 a.m. Sept. 18 in the 4900 block of Hopespring Drive. They said the sound of pounding on their garage door prompted them to open it and confront protesters standing outside, according to an Orange County sheriff’s report.
Protesters screamed at them and the Anthony’s screamed back. One woman pulled George Anthony by the shirt, while a man pushed Cindy Anthony from behind, according to the report.
Two suspects told an investigator that George Anthony came out of the garage swinging a baseball bat. One said the grandfather threatened to kill everyone there, but the sheriff’s report finds their statements contradicted that of other witnesses.
Much of the confrontation was caught on tape by two local cameramen. The Orange-Osceola State Attorney’s Office will decide whether to file formal charges.

Hi!
This family is gonna sure rack up a heck of a lot of legal fees – both personally – and for tax payers.
if the Ants file charges, then the other two protesters need to file battery charges on the Ants – remember when GA grabbed and pushed the two protesters on his driveway? I think he had a hammer in his hand? They called the police on GA and filed a report. That incident happened before this Sept 18 ruckus.
GOOD! that was a horrible way to act, the anthonys werent much better.
Yipeee….those morons had ABSOLUTELY no business out there. Actually, I didn’t see anyone that had any business in that neighborhood other than the people who lived there.
They wouldn’t have had a hammer in hand if there were ABSOLUTELY no reason to stake out NO TRESPASSING signs.
The protesters cost everyone…and big time!
I wonder what became of that silly woman that took their trash…that was soooooooo stoopid! What was worse was the cameraman zooming in on her vehicle as she was driving away.
If some one was pounding on my garage I wouldn’t go out there I would call the law it the Anthnoy fault that happed
Call the law nexy time Cindy
The protesters were within their rights to protest, but not to trespass, and certainly not to assault the Anthonys. If the protesters are sued for their actions, then maybe they will learn how to better behave?
However, I also feel that the protesters who were assaulted by the Anthonys should sue, sue, sue. Some of them were clearly threatened & assaulted by the Anthonys.
In my opinion -

Sorry for the duplicate post.
IMO- I wish the anthonys would have hit them back LOL so they can go to jail right with them fools. If I was there I would have made CA hit me with the hammer just to see her ass locked up. I would have taken a hit for u all to see LOL
Yes,
I agree with you. The Anthony’s seem to not understand how to get along with other people. They seem to always want to control every situation themselves. If they had called the law, there would have been no assault that night. I’m sure LE was tired of the calls, but in this case the protesters were trespassing, so I think it would have been appropriate for them to call for help.
TVW,
You’re my new hero!!!
Elaine- Id do anything to see that crazy biatch in jail LOL
You goin’ with us when we go for the trial? Cindee is driving…
At that time GA and CA were angry about their situation and spouting off and threatening demonstrators. If LE decides to press charges the demonstrators need to file lawsuits for the threats. We all saw the hammer and baseball bat.
Zak,
Also, if I remember correctly, they told Casey to call, but then they still went out there – armed, no less.
Zak, I am with you!
Armed… they knew trouble was brewing…. they went out anyways…. seems like they have some ownership in this. They want charges pressed against these two freaks, but not against the monster murderer… hmmmm. The only good thing that came out of this incident was CASEY DIALED 911
Some people thrive on arguments and fighting. I think the Ant family is like that. It explains why they are not close to their exteneded families. Lee seems to be quieter and a peace maker. Maybe that is why he moved out and doesn;t show up now. He’s tired of the drama.
where is lee????!!!!
Elaine- true hoe come she didnt make KC call the police when Caylee went missing she had to force her daughter on the phone with police
zak- exactly if they came out side with a bat that would indicate to me that a fight was about to start and that I would need to defend my self. Them bringing that bat out was an indication that they were gonna attack so maybe they felt they had to defends themselves.
zak- that and that he sees with his own investgation that it wasnt going good for sis so he stopped coming over period.
TVW,
They were armed and were threatening the protesters, but the protesters still made the first assault. I don’t know how that would go over in court.
Hey, I just checked my vacation club, and guess what? We have a condo just 16 miles from Orlando Int’l Airport…. interesting…
Those people were/are trying to ruin people’s lives in the name of freedom. Not a single solitary reporter out there cared anymore about Caylee than they claim Casey did. Their only desire, and that of many bloggers, were to imprison them in their own home.
Many pretend to be a part of some secret organization, originating in Europe, in a useless attempt to feed themselves under the guise of law and order. A useless “snitch” system that doesn’t work; maybe half a century ago it did- back when they made themselves look larger than life gettin’ ‘em afia.
Most are Nancy Grace groupies-mostly women who never took the initiative to stand up for them selves and let arrogant men beat them up. They are now left to beeatch among themselves instead of looking for someone better. Most listen to the same type of men and think that their advice holds water…whiney music, fast cars, fast women, hard booze.
As soon as they sober up I’m sure they’ll see things differently.
I feel sorry for Casey’s Parents—they didn’t ask for this. They have basically lost a daughter and a grandchild. Not to mention that they have to know that their daughter is resposible for the loss of their granddaughter!

I The Anthonys should have left the garage door open & when the protesters entered their home (& they would have!) They could have been waiting & then used the hammer & the baseball bat etc. They would not have been charged as Florida has the Make My Day Law!!! Teresa Van wert could then talk of how she would have loved to have been there & taken one for the team.
Lol!
I think a battery CHARGER should be used on Casey!
That’s what they’re looking for…hahaha!
The so called :”protesters” were looking to start shit–no doubt about it—two, stupid ,redneck TRASH—I’d have probably put lumps on their ass–but that’s just me.If I was just a neighbor having to put up with that shit I’d have been arrested for kicking their ass anyway:)
Well I find this just petty – I would think that LE would charge some of the Anthony family members for tampering evidence and lying to LE. What’s taking so long with THOSE charges?
Heck – these people deserve to be harranssed IMO – they have broken so many laws protecting their murderer. I don’t feel sorry for them in the least.
Sure some of these protesters are unsavory, but I can bet they didn’t kill their kid!
Lisa…you forgot to add “YET.”
cj, i’m guessing you mean adding “yet” to charging the Anthony’s
The charges will probably be dropped seeing as how GA and CA came out with weapons and were not being threatened by the protestors, just harassed.
That is really rich … the Anthony’s get by with aiding Casey … in her neglecting & somehow losing Caylee … and yet someone else is going to be charged .
The Anthony’s need to march into court and say they understand how frustraiting they have been .
Charges are not worth persuing.
basically, all this is doing, is helping Baez to mount an “impartial jury was unavailable” appeal scheme or whine about media frenzy prejudicing a just and fair outcome.
Good! Those people’s behavior towards her grandpapa would have made Cayley cry. I hope they are ashamed!
Sneekers … Caylee is dead and most likely her own mother killed her .
Her grand parents are covering for Casey and so it is to late for Caylee to shed any more tears .
The Anthony family and people who defend Casey’s actions are the ones who should be ashamed.
GA should be ashamed of his own behavior. But, never is there any reason to assault someone unless it is an attempt to defend someone else or yourself.
Elaine in the big grand scheme of things … Caylee missing / most likely dard , the Anthony’s sticking their heads in the sand and Casey maybe going away for a very long time. You would think the Anthony’s would just let this die down and go quietly away. They are the very people who never wanted Casey prosecuted for anything and she had a multitude of offenses . I just don’t see how they have the nerve to persue this ????
that was dead … my spell check went away ..sorry.
How were these protesters helping Caylee? Exactly…
Only giving the Anthonys more stress and grief.
Christie
I think they believe they can shame them ( encourage ) them to do the right thing and they just get carried away.
I feel very ugly toward this family when I think of poor sweet Caylee just out ther thrown away to what ever and where ever … she deserves a proper burial.
i think the protesters were lame and what did they prove. they trepassed and threw rocks yelled and screamed. i cant imagime what the neighbors and the anthnoys went through. these protesters showed total disrespect for a entire neighborhood and some even brought their children to wittness this wrongful behavior. it did not bring caylee back nor did it make casey talk. it hurt these grandparents more than ever as far as im concerned these protesters are nothing but loud mouth idiots who accompiliced nothing and they need to be arrested if they crossed the line. they got there 15 minutes of fame . freedom of speach is one thing but stupid is another.
Sue I am not defending the protesters, I agree they were out of line but I think the Anthony’s need to come to the party … they are protecting and covering for the wrong person. They need to help bring Caylee’s body home for a proper burial.
I think the charges against the protestors is a little steep. There are teenagaers that have done more damage to houses that don’t get anything at all.
However, I do think that they were out of line, and should apologize.
A wonder what the judge would do when the charges come across his desk.
