I’ve been following this website blog for many weeks – I find it not only enlightening but informative about this very sad case surrounding the disappearance and loss of little Caylee; and I have learned so much from the many people who blog here. For that I am grateful.(bless all of you). I have not posted, I’ve just been reading and find most ALL posts informative, intelligent and revealing.. However, I find this new thingie about Mr. Baez & the update to his website to be the MOST disgusting. It now seems VERY obvious what he is doing and I find that reprehensible! (Just my opionion). PLEASE, as I pray several timnes a day, bring this little girl’s remains home for a proper burial. May justice be served, and bless all of you have taken time from your lives to post your opinions and feelings and prayers here.. Amen.

I just saw Baez on Geraldo and he said “IF” we can prove Caylee alive, not “WHEN” we find Caylee alive……………
Also, that the burden of proof lies on the prosecution to prove that Casey killed Caylee and so far there is no proof of that.
I guess he’s forgotten the little Freudian slip that his buddy Todd made about how this isn’t only about the loss of a child but whats going to happen to Casey.

I would never hire a lawyer that defends a baby killer whom we all know did kill her little girl Caylee. If he doesn’t believe she is really dead then he’s as stuiped as them squirrles that got in Georges way (ha ha ha). Baez will not go anywhere with his career for the simple fact that he has woven himself into this Anthony family lies. He cares nothing about getting justice for this innocent child just fame and money is what he see’s, oh and maybe a future with Casey who probably fed him a line on how if he gets her off she will be with him forever. I guess he thinks he’s the Dream Team!

And didn’t he recently say his firm had a death-qualified attorney or did he only say the team working on Casey’s defense included a death-qualified attorney? I think I just answered my own question since that attorney didn’t want to be identified, and he would have to be identified on the website if he worked full-time for Baez’s firm.
Seriously, it’s going to be very difficult for the Baez firm to avoid all the Freudian slipups when they talk to the media. Is there really anybody left that believes this child is alive?
The Anthony’s know the truth, but it’s diffult for them. They have to swallow not one but possibly two deaths, Calee and Casey. I’m sorry for them.
If you reread Lee Anthony’s testimony, the smell in the car was powerful. He says that it was so bad that he doesn’t believe Casey would have even allowed Caylee to ride in the car that way. And he wondered how his dad was able to breath the air in that car coming home from Johnson’s Wrecking. The entire family was out of their minds from the smell! That, in turn, alarmed them about missing Caylee, who Casey said was “sleeping.” Casey is the nanny, and she tucked her in. Poor little Caylee.
Caylee didn’t have to put up with that smell. She was already dead. Sorry to be so blunt.

Ivana- You are correct, where was Caylee’s rights. But, Caylee will be heard in a court of law on behalf of the state’s case. Casey does also have rights which includes a right to counsel. So, we must all tolerate Baez and his PR firm. The case will be decided by a jury of Casey’s peers, if there is such a thing. The only thing that can be be done now for Caylee is to bring her home for a proper burial and to see that Justice is served.
I looked at a pic of the employees in his firm…there are some young guys that work for him…that may answer what she was doing all day….since Baez is her “father figure”, she was messing around with his employee “sons”…

I cannot attest for the smell of decomp, but I can tell you this – I had a gas can rupture in the trunk of my Buick after Hurricane Frances. I had to drive three hours with the WINDOWS DOWN because the fumes were so bad. Thank goodness my son wasn’t with me! (The seats, and the upholstery had to be replaced!)

The leased space is where the prayer vigil took place, and I read somewhere on some site, that their church and preacher and people from their church are supporting them in this. I don’t know if that is true, because otherwise, the vigil would have been at the church. I was wondering about Casey’s friends. I haven’t heard anything about any of them and where they are and whose side they are on. I can only assume that Amy is still going forward with her charges…as well she should.
And Tim-in-CO, maybe Patrick is innocent in all of this and it is a little innocent gesture on his part to come to the jail to visit Casey, but he mentioned that he was a friend of Mike’s…and Mike said hold your head up…the only thing with that, when she was talking to Kristina on the phone that night, she said she need Tony’s number so that she still would have time to call and talk to Mike…Again, with the Mike. What about Mike? Where does he fit into this scenario? And Patrick could have very well been delivering a message for Mike, and it be just a little innocent gesture on his part…you know, going to let her know she still had friends and she was not alone…but what about Mike?

The church could be supporting them, and yet not believe that Casey is innocent of any wrong doing.
Supporting the vigil, to me, means that you are remembering Caylee, and praying that she is returned home…in whatever condition that may be.
As far as leasing the space. It could be an empty bay, the the owner’s already taken a loss, why not donate the space for a little while, and take a tax credit by donating the rental space to the Caylee Marie Anthony Foundation.

Regarding money. I read on one of the posts that one of the news media paid up to 200,000 for the video of Caylee in the pool. Those videos are released by the family to the different outlets. The post also said they assumed this is how Baez is being paid, because when asked about his fees he is very evasive.

FLMomof2, I was about to say that your comments that Mercedes Leon would be joining the Jose Baez defense team “were cracking me up,” but the truth is that I find that pretty frightening, and not altogether impossible. Two soft-on-crime, “my poor client is a victim of the system!”, inexperienced criminal defense attorneys in kissimmee. Neither one certified for capital cases.

I am thankful that we have Lawson Lamar running the SAO right now…I heard on the news last week (I think channel 9?) that apparently he was the first to get a conviction using DNA evidence in the US. I guess if you’ve been State Attorney for 20 years, you get to have a lot of cool firsts!
Anyway, the real point I want to make is that this case is going to revolve primarily around highly technical, sophisticated evidence, forensic science, expert witnesses, etc. A little info for you non-lawyers – this kind of evidence is complicated to get admitted in court properly, complicated to apply to the principles you wish to apply it to, and complicated to challenge.
Lamar’s team clearly knows how to handle this level of prosecution…whereas Baez and his gang of jokers in Kissimmee appears to be quite outmatched.
I would normally feel at least a little bit sorry for a defendant in that kind of situation, but out of all the things Casey Anthony may be, I don’t think she’s stupid. If she and her family want to hire that attention-seeking clown Baez, that’s her business. Her life is literally on the line and she’s taking the dumbest risks.
Orlando, I don’t feel sorry for her a bit, either, but I cannot for the life of me imagine what the A family is thinking. From what I have seen so far, I don’t think he even knows how to file motions properly, let alone mount a defense.

#2 is simple…Todd Black has zero credibility. the entire media market knows he’s a joke.
#1 is less obvious…any decent attorney can manage a jury and a courtroom, and can certainly speak directly to the press themselves…properly, coherently, and ethically. (actually, in most cases, most attorneys in that type of practice area like the media attention and fame)
the mere fact that Baez hired Todd Black proves – in my mind – that he is not here to protect the rights of his client, but to be an attention whore. I apologize for the rude language, but that’s my opinion.
And any defense attorney would welcome the opportunity to put their spin on the case by speaking directly to the media. That’s what they use media appearances for. As I’ve said before, if Baez wanted to put out a press release, all he would have to do is have one of his legal aides or secretaries type it up and release it. I cannot come up with a logical explanation for the use of Todd Black.
“A misreport” and “a disjustice” are two less than eloquent portions of Baez’s recent public statements.
