Caylee Anthony Day by Day Since the Begining of The End

Few Women Face Execution — But Will Casey Anthony?

Prosecutors say Casey Anthony killed her child, but will they push to send her to death row? First-degree murder is punishable by death, but the history of female killers executed in Florida during the past 150 years is brief.

The state has executed only two women in the modern era. The third, a slave who killed her master, was hanged in the mid-19th century. Of the nearly 390 people on Florida’s death row, only one is a woman.

Only 1.5 percent of death-row inmates nationally are women, said Richard Dieter, executive director of the nonprofit Death Penalty Information Center. But most of those 51 women killed someone they know: a husband, boyfriend or their own child, he said.

The decision to seek the death penalty often is tied to politics and community outrage rather than the heinousness of the homicide, Dieter said.  Even so, though the Anthony case is the kind of crime that shocks the public, “many women have killed their children and don’t get the death penalty,” he said.

Randy Means, spokesman for State Attorney Lawson Lamar, said Wednesday that he could not discuss prosecutors’ plans for Anthony. But he did say they will make a decision in the next few weeks.

Florida law lists a number of “aggravating circumstances” that can be cited to justify execution, such as whether the homicide was committed in a cold, calculated and premeditated manner.

They’ll look at the mitigating circumstances — also outlined in state law — such as whether the defendant acted under extreme duress. In the end, it comes down to whether the aggravating circumstances outweigh the mitigating.

“It’s like doing math without numbers,” explained Bob Dekle, a retired prosecutor who teaches legal skills at the University of Florida.

I hope she gets life! death is too good for her

  5. Christine says:

I hope that she gets life with no parole. However, if I hear she is adapting well to prison and having a good old time, then maybe I would want her to be executed. Whatever makes her cry harder.

Why do people kill people who kill people to show people that to kill people is bad?

  8. kathy101 says:

we kill people so we don’t have to feed the rats in jail

  9. Believe in Karma says:

well, casey does seem to think she is the exception to the rule. so, when it comes to the odds of a woman getting the dp – lets hope that is the case!

  10. ivana says:

life death it dont matter caylee wont ever come back,so whatever she gets will never be enough for her i would rather life death would be to good for her,the more she is in there the better shes only 22 wow she will die in jail anyway if the kill her it will be like in 20 yrs anyway..

  11. Believe in Karma says:

why don’t people who kill people stop killing people and then no pople will be killed?

  12. sway says:

I heard a rumor that she has a picture of Caylee in her cell right now. If that is true, I hope it haunts her everyday until she takes her last breath.

  13. Lisa says:

If she has a picture of Caylee in her cell, it isn’t because she loves and misses her, it’s just all an act to try to pursuede anyone- even fellow inmates- that the nanny took the baby. She’ll never admit or take responsibility for what she’s done to that poor baby and her whole family.
    Sick bitch.

  14. InPrayer says:

    Hi Sway! ~

You always have some juicy information!!!

A photo in her cell? Amazing.

Casey’s brain needs to be donated for research after she passes, whether it be by natural causes or whatever …

  15. FLMomOf2 says:

What makes you think Casey has a brain?

  16. InPrayer says:

    LOL

  17. Sherry C. says:

I’d like her to get life in gen pop. The thing about executions is that when you take a life then yours must be taken. Its just age old wisdom. Life in gen pop where she fears for her life every minute is good. And if she thinks that pic of her precious daughter will keep a mad imprisoned mother from killing her then she truly is delusional.

  18. kathy101 says:

I am sure the picture is only to ‘TRY” to make people think she is innocent and that she misses her child but think about it…I hope it burns an imagine in her brain of the sweet little child she killed!

  19. Jody says:

If found guilty, an appropriate punishment would be to spend the rest of her “bella vita” in the very small cell she is now in with no, cell phone, computer, men, sex, lies, and video

  20. ejulie17 says:

I think more like Sherry C. .. I’d just let her in the general population within the prison .. I guarantee someone will take her out .. no death row necessary and no tax dollars to keep her in prison forever.

  21. N.C. says:

Jody, I agree. In general, I am against the death penalty and feel that life without parole is a much worse punishment.

  22. Michelle says:

I am with those who would rather have an inmate suffer with life in prison than recieve the death penalty… maybe kc can get her Bella Vita tatoo arltered prison style to read Jaila Vita

  23. Waco Kidd says:

I think she should have to spend the rest of her life on house arrest at her parent’s house…..now that would be hell!

  24. ~Amber~ says:

I say Give her the Death Penalty, Make her spend Years filing appeal after appeal only to have each one rejected. Ultimately she will come to that Last day where she is scheduled to die, after spending Years fighting for the simple right to live…on that day may her sentence be commuted to life (hopefully she’ll be pushing 40). Then she gets turned out to general population where she is lucky enough to become cell mates and bunk b*tch to Newly Single BIG BERTHA who spends every waking moment thinking of ways making Miss Casey Anthony Wish she had never filed that first appeal.

  25. Marie says:

Defending Yourself and Others: Detecting a Criminal Mind, by ‘What
does he (or she) NOT talk about, NOT look at, NOT do?’

A MAJOR TOOL to detect someone’s hidden Insanity or hidden Malice, is

‘What does he (or she) NOT talk about, NOT look at, and most of
    all, NOT do?’

and then also, making it more obvious,

‘What does he (or she) REFUSE to talk about, REFUSE to look at,
and most of all, REFUSE to do?’

    and then also, insisting further,

‘What does he (or she) EVEN WHEN CLEARLY APPROACHED OR INFORMED
ABOUT IT, still refuse to talk about, refuse to look at, and
most of all, refuse to do?’

For some, I need to mention, that ‘PRETENDING to talk
about something,’ ‘pretending to look at something,’ or
‘pretending to do something,’ is equivalent to (or
rather, it may be even quite a lot worse than) ‘not
talk about,’ ‘not look’ or ‘not do.’

Further, the ‘NOT talk,’ is – obviously – opposed to
    ‘talk,’ in this context;

‘talk’ meaning: that what a person is EXPECTED very much
to talk about, to be highly interested in,

say, if someone claims to be interested in peace,
he would be INTENSELY interested in the Definition
    of Peace, *(4)

or if someone claims to be interested in ending
wars, he would be extremely interested in the
Definition of War, isn’t it, *(5)(6)

and if someone claims to be an expert regarding
perception, or wants to restore his perception and
that of others, then he would, most burningly, be
interested in the Definition of Perception; *(7)

also, if someone claims to be guided by a
religion, then he will most avidly absorb the
Definition of God, if defined correctly; *(19)

a person interested in – and which normal person
isn’t interested in it – creating and maintaining
a relation of love, would be very highly interested
in knowing what love is, and what to expect; *(20)

    etc..

However, if he or she DOES NOT, or IS NOT (wanting to
look at and to act upon some issue that – from a broad
viewpoint with wide and correct knowledge and care – is
obviously truly vital) then you know, that you are quite
possibly looking at a Criminal Mind,

  26. Stevie says:

The problem with ‘life in prison’ is that it’s rarely actually for life. People get out all the time, and this dumb bitch needs to never get released back into society. She seems to think she’s untouchable–I say kill her, and leave the world with one less worthless piece of trash. Don’t even bother with the needle–just take her out back and shoot her in the head. Let her whine and cry a little first, though–let her be as scared as poor Caylee probably was. People like Casey Anthony shouldn’t be allowed to waste the world’s oxygen.
