Cindy was driving her initially and stopped and Casey got out to get into a gray SUV.
I thought Cindy was driving her, she stopped under a bridge and then Casey got into a gray SUV that was driven by her bondsman. Is this correct?

Yes, that makes more sense that LE was driving the SUV to get her to the jail with as little attentions as necessary. But why place her in cuffs on the side of the road?
WHAT? the suv was cops? Why did nancy make it sound like an escape
Cindy drove out by the airport and then they went to an overpass and Casey turned herself over to the sheriff.
They did not want the exchange to be caught by news helicoptors and the airport is a no fly zone for them.
Oh My – Ive been travelling all day so I just heard the news! All I can say is Finally!!!!!
I don’t get this getaway car. I thought the Cindy knew LE was going to meet her under the bridge to avoid going home with Casey and facing the media

There was no get away car. This was arranged so helicoptors from the local news station could not video her turning herself in. I said overpass and meant under one of those overpasses.
I hope George has an undisclosed place to sleep at tonight.
Otherwise, Cindy might just do him in… ’til death do us part….

Cindy wasn’t helping Casey escape. She was handing her over to LE under the overpass to avoid the media cameras.

Dont know which way the court is from the way Cindy was going but was she headed towards the court house to turn Casey in or was she going in some other directions?
That attorney that the Anthonys hired to represent them certainly has his hands full. My observation is that George is listening to him and drawing somewhat of a bit of sympathy from the masses.
Cindy of course still knows it all and is still hated by everybody.
You can just see the division and the way everything works for those two. There is no unity in that family at all.
Speaking of which where was Lee. Why wasn’t he there supporting his mother and beloved sister on this terrible, terrible day in their lives.
I see the tears, but her personality will only allow her to regroup. Watching the video she appears to look at Baez, “get me out of this” look and all. She didn’t cry that much when her daughter was missing. I salute her father for standing up and doing the right thing. It had to take courage and conviction.

Lee has apparently pulled out of everything and away from the whole situation. Q said last night that his life was ruined because of this and even his fiance broke up with him over it.

I can’t imagine how hard it was for him to testify against his daughter. I think he and Cindy will end up in divorce after this.
It will kill her spirit when it hits her that Caylee isn’t coming back and Casey is doing life in prison. A mother’s love for a child is so powerful and even when your kids are grown they are still your children. She has to be watched and I pray that she is strong enough to deal with what is coming.

I don’t know when Tim is going but I know my brother in law is going this week … there was one day i think i was told it was 6/17 there were no calls from caseys cell. there was a roommate that went to jacksonville
so there are a few places they want to search there
Unfortunately, my mother commited suicide several years ago and it happened right around the time my sister was facing time in prison. I realize there are mother’s that go through this everyday, but it is still just a lot to take in. I pray for the family. It is not a nightmare for Casey because she is delusional, but it is a nightmare for the rest of the family. Though there have been mistakes made, my heart still goes out to the family.

I said I thought his message was confusing. Some took issue with me and told me what a wonderful man he is.
I think Tim Miller is wonderful too. I cannot imagine what that man went through and now he is able to do what he is doing. Amazing work.

It is obnoxious, and if this were covered anywhere else I wouldn’t watch NG for one second—never have prior to now, and probably won’t any time again in the near future, as I only wait to hear from Tim Miller or Leonard Padilla. Rudeness is her schtick and the way she defines her show in order to get good ratings. Obviously, she knows her law, or should, yet she acts like the average joe on the street, hurling accusations and insinuating that anyone who wants to follow proper legal means of defending a client is out of line or saying or doing something morally wrong.
Dan..what brought that on. She said who she was and she is entitled to speak her mind and tell what she wants. She knows her limits.

In an interview with Nancy Grace, some very direct questions were asked that required a yes or no answer and Tim Miller, the head of Texas EquuSearch, answers them. Miller admits that the discovery was indeed an article of clothing that was “An article of clothing that is very, very similar to an article of clothing that Caylee was wearing at one time and there is a picture of it.” He also stated that there have been several articles of clothing found and sent to the lab for analysis and that this piece of clothing would also follow the same protocol
jeanne-true but just my gut feeling she will be found and put to rest I believe in tim 100% i know he can do it and now he will put 1000% percent into with the largest search ever

It was sad to hear Richard Grund, he is devastated. I think hearing the indictment gave the realization that Casey possibly could have done the unthinkable to Caylee. He thought of Caylee as his granddaughter… There must have been enough evidence presented today to convince the jury she could have killed her…

This dress was found several weeks ago and someone leaked the info. Tim, not very willlingly, admitted that it was true last night on NG. The dress was a size 6 so it’s very possible it did not belong to Caylee.

This is the first I have heard of the dress. Only time will tell. TIME – what an awesome factor in life.
Teresa I have tried to find some kind of sympathy for all the things Cindy is going through. I don’t understand her at all. She listens to nobody. She is arrogant. She is a bully. She fights with anybody and everybody. The crowds gathered outside her home, her family, the press. It just never ends with her.
I feel very bad that I don’t know her and dislike her so much with all she is going through.
Even when she dropped her daughter off at Baez office today there was no..hug, kiss or farewell. Just cold as stone.
Really mixed emotions on that one.

It has been said many times, Jeanne, but children learn what they live. This, I think, is why Cindy and Casey are so much alike.

Maybe Casey is the way she is because of the way Cindy mothered her and may be Cindy didn’t have a very good mother as a role model. Sometimes this is generational.

laura and jeanne- I know i felt that about her before i was for her than against her but everytime i hear i see the liar coming out the crazy storys like her daughter. Fox 3 interview she did yesterday how she laughed saying she opened her mouth too much like y r u laughing. My opinion is that i think she knows. Just a gut feeling by looking at her actions if she felt caylee was alive y is acting like she is dead.

Now that I started watching I think she’s a really sweet and compassionate woman.

Did anyone else feel a certain sadness tonight watch NG? If only Casey would have used her efforts and talents to do legitiamate things, she could have gone far. The Anthony spokesperson called in earlier this afternoon to Mike Gallegos on cnn news, and said that everyone was being rude to Casey Anthony and making false statements, etc. The caller even attacked the psychiatrist, and Mike Gallegos really let the caller have it. An agency spokesman confirmed to the Orlando Sentinel that at some point in the afternoon, before deputies stopped and caught Anthony, she changed vehicles under a highway overpass in east Orange County.
Anthony’s mother, Cindy Anthony, reportedly pulled her vehicle over at Narcoossee Road and State Road 417, and Casey got out. Casey Anthony then got into a full-size grey SUV, which drove off.
It is unclear who owns the grey SUV and who was driving the vehicle.
The Orlando Sentinel called MacDonald Bail Bonds, one of the companies responsible for posting Anthony’s $500,000 bond, but a man who answered the phone there said “no comment.”

Re Casey switching vehicles under the viaduct, on NG they confirmed it was her bail bondsmen in the gray SUV that she got into the car after exiting Cindy’s vehicle, but then Law Enforcement stopped the gray SUV and Casey was then taken into custody.
I know that Cindy is not a fave of many, but I do feel very sad for her and for George. I am glad that George did the right thing, it took so much courage, he really loved his little granddaughter Caylee, and he loves his daughter Casey. It is just so hard, a fine line here. It was probably the most difficult thing he ever had to do.

I just saw on Cnn.com, that a statement from the sherriff’s office witnessed a car swithch and pulled her over. I didn’t believe it at first, but CNN seems always dead on with information. I give NG credit for keeping the focus on missing person cases that would otherwise fall below the public’s radar but not for the format of her show, which is a tabloid talk show.
Greta Van Susteren and Roger Cossack use to have a great legal show on CNN called Burden of Proof in which they would calmly discuss topical legal cases, exploring the nature of the evidence, the charges, etc. with a group of experts, defense lawyers, prosecutors, and government officials. Even on Greta’s current Fox show, On the Record, she kept the focus on Natalie Holloway for many months in a non-sensational manner after the other news organizations lost interest, so there is no need for Nancy Grace to act like Jerry Springer to provide the public service that the show does provide.
NG provides just enough solid information to avoid sinking to the Jerry Springer level (once spoofed by Linda Ellerbe as shows that spend an hour talking about “Daughters who kill their mothers with ashtrays”), but sometimes she seems to come close.
Her show is frustrating to me because she could have a great show but either she or her producers or both prefer a sensationalized, bombastic style that seriously diminishes the quality.
I noticed Baez wasn’t smiling as much as usual. In court, outside – that smirk like he was enjoying it. Or maybe it was a nervous smile. yeah, right.

My daughter can’t figure out how I can watch NG with half the screen covered my “Breaking New”s banners. I admit it does drive me a little bit nuts but as someone said earlier else said this is the place you get updates on Casey Anthony so I keep watching. I thought may be Greta might have something on tomight bcause of the arrest but I think she’s done with this story. It’s been a long time since Greta has reported on this case.

Geraldo is on on the weekends on FOX. Here in Oregon he is on at 8 and 10 in the evening i believe.

Speaking of the Duckett case, I wonder if NG will be hosting coverage of the Duckett family’s wrongful death suit against CNN and Nancy Grace. A federal judge refused to dismiss the case in a hearing in August so the trial is going forward although I don’t know when it’s scheduled to begin.

Yes N.C. I’ve heard that many of times. The medication can mess up polys. Your thinking and body reactions, like breathing and sweating can change on certain meds and can usually result in innaccurate readings…. or so I’ve read.

As critical as I have been of CA, I really feel for her all alone in that house tonight. It’s sad the family seems to have no friends. I imagine CA and GA are at odds and very uncomfortable. I don’t think anyone was called to testify except George. If anyone else had been subpoenaed they would have had to show up whether they liked it or not.

I meant to say something about an earlier comment about getting information tomorrow on the GJ proceedings. I don’t believe we are going to hear anything.
GJ proceedings are supposed to be secret and grand jurors are required to make a permanent pledge of secrecy. They cannot comment on any GJ proceedings except by order of the court and that is very rare.
There are two reasons for the secrecy:
1) If the GJ proceedings are not secret, then witnesses in future GJ proceedings will not be as forthcoming with information.
2) If the GJ does vote to indict, the case will go to a public trial and the public will get to hear all relevant testimony at that time; if the GJ decides that there isn’t enough evidence to bring a charge, then an innocent person’s name is not dragged through the mud and branded with suspicion.
It was really wrong of whomever leaked to the media the information that the GJ was hearing the Casey Anthony case today. I know we all want to know what’s up with this case, but the public doesn’t have the right to know what witnesses are called before any GJ. And as someone else mentioned earlier, the GJ may decide to indict someone connected to a particular case who isn’t even on the public’s radar but, with knowledge of the day and time and subject of a GJ hearing, might get nervous and bolt.
I would hate to think anyone on the side of the state leaked the news to the press, and I can’t think of any good reason for the state or OSCO or the FBI to do so. They rely on the secrecy of GJ proceedings to maintain the integrity of the judicial system and the public’s faith in the judicial system. No short-term publicity advantage is worth the possible chilling effect on future witnesses who might be reluctant to come forward with evidence if they don’t have confidence that their suspicions will be kept secret in the event that a charge is not forthcoming.

I really just dont understand cases like this, you see alot of cases now where a young mother kills her kid just so she can party. I got pregnant at 16, and was alone. I remember sitting up at nights sometimes holding my baby crying because I just wanted some “teenage time” but through all that NEVER not even once did the thought of hurting my little boy in any way ever cross my mind. So I just don’t get these women. They have to be crazy.

Yes, the live microphone feeding the media was a major and hard-to-understand screw-up. No one’s said how much of the deliberation was heard before the error was discovered, but the chief judge of that court gave warning that anyone reporting a smidge of what was heard will be facing contempt of court charges.
UPDATED: According to Leonard Padilla, at the time when there was switching of cars, when Casey was being put into car. Police were going to arrest him the bondsman at the time, as they believed Casey was going to flee.

That smile she had on her face at her first appearance in court many months ago has sure been wiped off. She really thought she was smart enough to get away with this. Hadn’t she thought about all the incriminating evidence on her computer, the pictures of her partying, Amy’s checkbook and I could go on and on. This is probably the first time in her life she has had to answer to anything.

I know Joe D was quite outspoken but I tend to agree with him on one thing about NG…she IS rude to her guests and reporters. When she talks to them she could speak to them with a bit more respect when repeating a question or use a softer voice like she turns on when she gets a compliment from a caller. She was downright nasty to a lie-detector expert that was on the other day when he tried to answer her question like he wanted to answer it and bless his heart he just kept talking and didn’t let her intimidate him. He was just as much the expert as she and just as deserving of the time to talk. Why does she have them on if she isn’t going to give them time to answer/talk??? I do feel she grandstands a good bit of the time but it is necessary to watch if we want to keep abreast of this case. *sigh*

I watched the OJ trial everyday, all day long. I had picture in picture on my TV and I would jump from channel to channel when the commercials came on. I almost drove my family nuts. But I’ll do the same thing if this trial is televised. I love to watch City Confidential, Dominic Dunne, American Justice and the rest. There is no fiction that can compare with real life.

I believe that once this goes to trial, we all may very well be mortified at what this baby went through. It’s so hard for me, as a mother, to fathom intentionally killing your child. It sickens me, but you hear of people snapping out of anger and accidentally killing their child, and you hear of accidental overdosing and so I tend to want to lean towards the accident theories and always have. But reading her charges, I’m reevaluating, in consideration of what evidence they must have to result in the Murder 1 indictment.
This charge alleges that Casey Anthony caused the death of Caylee “from a premeditated design”
Count two is aggravated child abuse. This alleges that between the same dates Casey Anthony “did knowingly or willfully…causes great bodily harm, permanent disfigurement or permanent disability to Caylee Marie Anthony…by intentionally inflicting physical injury…or by intentionally committing an act or actively encouraging another person to commit an act which could reasonably expected to result in physical injury.”
Count three is aggravated manslaughter of a child. This count alleges that Casey Anthony caused Caylee’s death by failing to provide “the care, supervision and services necessary to maintain Caylee Marie Anthony’s physical and mental health” or that she did not make “a reasonable effort” to protect Caylee from someone else abuses, neglecting or exploiting her.
I realize that and “accident” could possibly fall within these lines but I’m beginning to have serious doubts about it. I can NOT imagine what we may find out.
I went back and looked at the car that has been taking Casey to and from the lawyers thinking that maybe the switch was him but he always drove the red suv. So like everyone else here I’m still wondering who’s suv that was that she got into

Yes, I got mad at my boys too when they were small and got frustrated and overwhelmed. Even overdosed the baby one time, giving him one medication then another later when he was coughing. Later I noticed he was sitting sideways, leaning LOL – he was DRUNK – not really funny but it was in a way after I called the pharmacist and found out the child would be okay with what I had given him but not to do it again! I was young and didn’t think before I medicated but still felt so bad later on…wow…can’t imagine if I had actually caused harm to him how I couldn’t have lived with myself.

Casey doesn’t have any idea what truth is, and even if she decides to tell what happened, it won’t be the truth. Only hard evidence will tell what really happened to dear little Caylee, who deserved love and protection but didn’t get that from her “mother”.
I can understand the switch to avoid all of the media attention and to throw the protestors off and it would be alright from a LE point of view for the bondsman to deliver her. No big deal, assuming this was all prearranged with LE. They say LE followed Miss Thing all day, for obvious fleeing reasons. However, if LE knew about the switch, they wouldn’t have needed to pull them over in the midst of their trip. This tells me that LE wasn’t informed of the switch.
Has anyone mapped this out? The locations, the direction that Cindy and the bondsman were heading? Was it in the direction of the jail or not?

I think Casey has a right to a speedy trial. On Bill O’Reilly someone said it would be within a year. That crushed me. How can we wait that long? It only took a few months for both the OJ trials to start; Scott Peterson, too. I doubt that it will be too long.

I wonder how much of our discussions and opinions helped the prosecution decide to take the case to the GJ at this point. We were saying premed and guilty without even seeing all of the evidence.
Zak~I’m guessing that they’ll shoot for a speedy trial to avoid any further evidence being gathered. It would better the defenses chance of obtaining reasonable doubt. With the swiftness of the GJ decision, that looks like a longshot. Otherwise, we could be talking about a year if not more. Regardless, she’s behind bars, not bondable, where she belongs.

I watched a trial on trutv where the defendent represented himself, and he questioned the witnesses to prove his side, not to get to the truth. The problem was that he was wrong and wouldn’t accept it. The judge had to intervene numerous times becuase the defendent didn’t want to accept the truth.
The conversation that I remember the best is when Lee asked if she thought Caylee was still OK and she went on about how as mom asked me this morning and the detectives asked me earlier and the someone appointed by the court asked me blah, blah, blah. What would have wrong with a simple yes or no. I got tired listening to her.
I think she thinks that if she makes up a bunch of details in her stories it will make it more believable…it just makes her all that more unbelievable

I wish I did… Someone posted a blog earlier that said something to the extent that Casey’s life could be sparred by her identifying the whereabouts of Caylee”s little body. How extraordinarily sad to think that. I know it hasn’t come to that yet, but it is always a probability. Wow, Caylee’s gift of life to her so called “mother”. I know that this is a happy day regarding this case, but it is also a very sad day. It just makes it all so very real…. Caylee being gone. I for one have believed from the very beginning that Casey did it…. and with all the forensic evidence how could anyone believe anything else…. but it is still hard and quite SAD. I truly hope they nail this Biatch to the wall… and that she never sees the light of day as a free woman ever again.

CONGRADULATIONS for you Million-hit! This is a great site. For a previous nonblogger, who will come to the end of the road when this case is over (I never thought their would be another “great case” after Laci Peterson- and Connor-not the reject cop). I have really enjoyed your compassion toward each other and benefited from your intelligent problem-solving and ideas.
My opinion (LCSW/Clinical Psychology PhD student)- is that Casey is a victim- her mom is probably a victim as well and her mom too. Cindy “asked” Casey to lie to her- children learn to lie by getting away with it (even being encouraged to do it). Casey’s lies worked for Cindy- they were so much better than the truth- which she (Cindy) wasn’t invested enough to deal with. Can you even imagine your adult-child living with you for TWO YEARS and “not knowing” they she was lying about having a job? That is parents that didn’t want to know. Cindy and George KNEW – at some level- that Caylee was in an “insecure” situation. They didn’t think it was life-threatening- but they knew it wasn’t what it was represented as- or should be. We will never know what was going in that house, but I can tell you it is not that rare.
This sort of screwed up family system has been my life’s work. Regardless of whether or not Casey was a victim of CSA, she was obviously not in the financial or emotional “place” to have and raise a child.
If I’d raised a Casey- and allowed or created the monster that she is- and then let her have, and keep, a child (that was at her disposal-her whim-that she had control of), I would be as, or more, guilty than she is.
This is illogical thinking on Cindy’s part- I know what she was thinking- that this experierence would “grow Casey up” and ‘make a adult out of her”- but this is wrong thinking- that’s not how it works. She wanted Casey to make up for her weakness, laziness, and irresponsibilility. It doesn’t work that way. Cindy got just exactly what the “logical” outcome should have been.
Poor Caylee, was doomed from the beginning- her only temporary fix was the religious guy/and his family- but the psycholgical reaction to being ’saved” is unfortunatly not that simple or easy (and the religious “saving” process is more of the same bad messages). Casey felt she wasn’t worth being saved- and maybe she was too angry to be saved- it can be a finite number of different reactions that would be consitered a “normal” response.
Regardless, this is a tragedy that could have been averted (and usually is at some level before death) at many different points along the way. But in Casey and Caylee’s case there was no safety net- no sweet grandmother, or informed therapist- that could have taken over, or give Casey “permission” to give Caylee up to a loving family for adoptive.
This happens EVERY day- the ultimate victims don’t usually die but they are “ruined” or “marginalized” by their situation/circumstance. Imagine if Caylee had lived….drugged, perhaps abused, not protected, and validated, and respected, and loved like she needed to be- she would have been another Casey or Cindy…and would have been a threat to her own future unborn child.
This is an American tragedy, and we are all guilty- the school, the YMCA, her GYN, her parents, her friends, her relatives- society.
There’s huge problems with this argument as an excuse for Casey’s psychotic behavior. Casey was a bully in elementary school, and developed a reputation already back then for being mean and stealing. She did not have many friends. Being forced into early parenthood did not cause her behavioral problems. Casey has prgressed from ODD behavior, to antisocial and psychotic behavior. She has no emotions and no conscience. No one has stopped her in the past from bullying and threatening people and now we see the result. Casey herself said, “I should have been stopped a long time ago.” I think evidence will emerge to further prove this true.

Defense has turned this into a circus. Had the defendant been truthful and forthcoming from the beginning, there could have been a conclusion much sooner. By refusing to cooperate with law enforcement, defendant has exposed herself, her family and her attorney to ridicule.
She has not protected herself (which I’m sure was her main sociopathic purpose) nor has she shown any grief or respect for her daughter. She has not shown any respect for herself, her family, her attorney or for the laws of her country. She has shown no remorse for her part in the disappearance and probable death of her daughter. She has stolen from friends & family. She has exposed innocent people to defamation with her lies and accusations. She has hurt and embarrassed those who thought she was their friend. She has caused emotional pain to the Grund family, whose only crime was loving her daughter.

It seemed to me that they were always trying to make Casey not be mad at them….which my kid has pulled the I am mad and never talking to you again(he’s only 7), and I just say okay. Eventually, of course, he comes around. But I feel like they went out of their way to have her not be mad at them, until it was too late, like after she had done something, like with Grandparents’ money, and she really was a spiteful B—-…it is important not to always justify and take up for someone, let them fight their own battles, otherwise they use you like a pawn in their game. As my friend said, explaining to Casey the reason to tell the truth would be like explaining to a tribesperson the television….it is just incomprehensible….

This statement from CA has always haunted me . . . and it wreaks of dysfunction:
“Whenever Casey has lied to me in the past, we have always been able to get to the bottom of it and she has told me the truth.”
Gee – this was in fact an every day ordeal with the lying, eh? Casey isn’t a toddler for goodness sakes – she is 22 years old . . . Yep, ENABLERS for sure, especially CA. I think GA tried and tried, but gave up and just rolled over all these years. The Wrath of CA was too much to bear, I am quite positive!
Their daughter is behind bars. Their granddaughter remains missing and presumed dead, and NeJame said they’re sorting through lies about what happened.
“They know, over time, there’s been some misrepresentation. I think they’re just desperate to know the truth,” NeJame said.
This is the most reasonable statement I have heard made from this family or any representative of theirs since the beginning of this ordeal.

Hey NEJAME . . . what? SOME MISREPRESENTATIONS? You mean L-I-E-S. Sounds to me like the Anthonys sure don’t know (or refuse to admit they know) the difference between a mere misrepresentation and a big fat LIE. There is a HUGE difference, DUH! Well, that explains a lot about the parenting skills / lack thereof when dealing with Casey. YIKES!!!
“They’re desperate to know the truth.” Wow, that was a huge understatement – and you get paid how much? You too need to think about what you say before you open your mouth. You’re starting to sound like an Anthony Nutcase . . . We are ALL desperate to know the truth.
Although I like watching Nancy Grace at times, I must admit it drives me crazy when she asks a guest, usually a professional in his/her field, a question, and then just cuts them off while they are speaking and randomly goes into something un-related – it is extremely rude, and frustrating.
