Statement Given by George Anthony to Police on 7/15/08

ON JULY 15, 2008 AT APPROXIMATELY 2005PM MY SPOUSE (CINDY) CALLED MY CELL PHONE.  I IMMEDIATELY ATTEMPTED TO RETURN HER CALL, AND ONLY GOT HER VOICEMAIL.  I CALLED OUR LAND LINE #, AND ONLY GOT HER VOICEMAIL.  I CALLED OUR LAND LINE#, AND ALSO GOT A VOICEMAIL.  I IMMEDIATELY THEN CALLED MY SON, LEE TOLD HIM I WOULD A PPRECIATE HIM, CHECKING ON HIS MOM TOLD HIM BRIEFLY ABOUT CASEY AGAIN, AND MOM & I ARE UPSET.  AT 2035PM, I FINALLY GOT A HOLD OF MY SPOUSE BY CELL, AND SHE ASKED WHEN I WOULD BE HOME.  I TOLD HER I WOULD BE HOME ABOUT 10-10:30PM.

ARRIVING AT 9:50PM, MY SPOUSE WAS IN OUR GARAGE, CRYING UPSET & TOLD ME THAT CAYLEE MARIE (OUR GRANDDAUGHTER) WAS MISSING, TAKEN A MONTH AGO, BY A PERSON BY THE NAME OF ZANY.

I INQUIRED TO MY SPOUSE ABOUT ORANGE COUNTY BEING CALLED, AND I WAS TOLD THEY WERE CONTACTED AT 830PM.

AS TO THIS STATEMENT, MY GRANDDAUGHTER- CAYLEE MARIE ANTHONY, AGE 3 HAS BEEN MISSING.  WHAT I MEAN, I HAVE NOT SEEN HER OR HEARD HER VOICE SINCE JUNE 9, 2008.  MY DAUGHTER, CASEY, CAYLEE’S MOTHER HAS BEEN VERY VAGUE FOR A MONTH, EACH TIME WE HAVE ASKED TO SPEAK, SEE HER OR ASK WHERE SHE IS AT, MY DAUGHTER WOULD ALWAYS HAVE A DIFFERENT ANSWER.

MY GRANDDAUGHTER WILL BE 3 YRS. OLD, AUGUST 9, 2008

Dismal Turnout For Missing Caylee Search

A call for volunteers to search for a missing Orlando girl drew only a handful of people over the weekend instead of a crowd of thousands originally expected. Even fewer volunteers showed up for a Sunday search.Some blamed the low turnout — which was described as dismal — on Caylee’s mother, Casey Anthony.”Regardless of what your opinion is about the family, the focus is on this little girl who needs to be found,” volunteer Magie Woodward said. “I’d like to see a better turnout,” volunteer Lee Mann said. “There is so many people around here. Anybody could help. “We need them to realize this search is not about the family,” Albritton said. “This search is about brining this baby home. Whether to live out the rest of her life or rest — it’s a rescue mission. “The Orange County Sheriff’s Office directed the teams to areas that needed to be searched Sunday.”It’s important that we find Caylee whether she is dead or alive,” Orange County Sheriff’s Sgt. John Allen said.Saturday, a group of volunteers used sonar and a high-tech airboat to search Central Florida swamps and other remote areas for a missing Orlando girl. “We still have that glimmer of hope that (Caylee) is still out there alive,” Equusearch official Tim Miller said. “But our experience in 920-plus searches is that this is probably not going to end up good.”The group is looking for volunteers for another search being launched Monday. The group will meet early Sunday at the Holiday Inn located at 5750 TG Lee Blvd.

Decomposing Body That Of Caylee Anthony

UPDATE:This has been reported by two different news stations (one of which is the linked source below)  Some stations are now reporting this has not been confirmed and this was a rumor.

For the first time on the record on Sunday, Orange County investigators acknowledged that recent FBI lab tests confirmed that Caylee Anthony’s body was in her mother’s trunk and that the child is dead.

Evidence from a Central Florida body farm showed that an odor emitted from Casey Anthony’s car’s trunk was human decomposition.A lead investigator in the case told WESH 2’s Bob Kealing that lab results indicated Caylee’s dead body was in the trunk of that car. Sources also confirmed that a stain in the trunk was not what clinched the decision that Caylee was in the trunk, but it was the strands of hair that investigators suspected all along were Caylee’s.

Police sources said the lab test that clinched the decision was on strands of hair belonging to Caylee that showed signs of decomposition. However, those tests did not provide a probable cause for how the child’s body ended up in the trunk. Investigators said they’re continuing to look into that.

“I want an apology from Sheriff Kevin Beary,” Cindy Anthony said.Meanwhile, Cindy Anthony said she’s still fuming over her daughter’s re-arrest on Friday. She refuses to buy into evidence that her granddaughter is dead.”We need to start looking for a little girl that’s walking and living and breathing and someone actually has her,” Cindy Anthony said.Sheriff’s investigators said the timing of the arrest Friday was not orchestrated. They said these latest economic crime charges are a separate matter from the child neglect case.With two new felony counts and one misdemeanor, Casey Anthony is now facing to 17 years in prison if convicted of everything.
