Caylee Anthony is close to being released from jail.
A bail bondsman will likely deliver the $500,000 keeping Casey Anthony behind bars by dinnertime Tuesday.
But Tony Padilla, who flew in to Orlando from California to free Anthony, said she probably won’t see the light of day until Wednesday morning.
Anthony remains a “person of interest” in the disappearance of her toddler daughter, who hasn’t been seen for two months.
The 22-year-old mother described by friends and family as a habitual liar didn’t report Caylee missing until about 30 days after she said she left her with a baby sitter who snatched her.
Police have said they doubt that story.
Padilla could have secured Anthony’s release Tuesday had he filed all the paperwork by 9 a.m., he told FOX News. But he didn’t — thanks to various procedural tie-ups.
The delay will probably buy the young brunette mom with wide eyes and a big smile another night in the slammer in Orange County, Fla., he said.
Padilla arrived Sunday with his cowboy-hat-sporting, bounty hunter uncle Leonard Padilla to bail Anthony out of jail — and, rumor has it, shoot a TV show.
“My only interest … is to get that child back,” Leonard Padilla told FOX News on Monday.
His interest might also be a reality program called “Bounty Hunters” that he stars in on the National Geographic Channel. There have been rumblings that the elder Padilla has gotten involved in Anthony’s case to have material for the small screen.
Anthony is charged with child neglect and lying to authorities about her daughter’s disappearance on or around June 16.
Padilla said her release from the Orange County jail can help give investigators more information on where the tot might be.
“I feel that there is some humanity in that woman that would not allow her to kill that cute little girl,” Leonard Padilla said. “I’ve just got to believe that.”

He said he isn’t worried that Anthony will run away.
“We’re not letting her out of our eyesight,” he said.
Leonard Padilla and a team of people will reportedly be guarding Anthony 24/7, and details of how they handle her are being worked out with her attorney, Jose Baez.
The Anthony family has also retained a spokesman named Larry Garrison, known for his work on other high-profile cases.
Garrison has spoken to the media about the disappearance in Aruba of Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway and about the arrest of John Mark Karr after he falsely confessed to the murder of Colorado beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey.
Police are investigating numerous theories about what happened to Caylee Anthony, including the possibility that she died accidentally, was killed or was kidnapped by a baby sitter, as her mother has claimed

It sure seems to me that the news is getting more scarce by the day on this entire case. By that I mean, for those of us who live on an island and don’t always have access to a television, we depend on sites such as this.
I know it is a lot of work, but I for one, really appreciate you doing this. just keep it up and please update more often, if you can. Mahalo
The Bounty Hunter and/or the bail bondsman have said they can have Caylee back in 5 days !!!
Does that mean we will know truth by next Tuesday or Wednesday ?
Also why did they not have the bond money turned in by 4:00 PM today as required ????
Has anyone heard anything ?
There’s a special set of links for the Caylee story on http://www.USAMediaGuide.com that let you get in-depth local coverage of the story from Orlando news outlets.
This case makes me heartsick. So many things don’t make sense at all. I don’t think the grandparents are involved(but did I read a comment that their home was about to go into foreclosure?? Anyone have a source?)
I’m having issues with the way they’ve handled things though. They lead me to think that most likely Casey has done things in the past so that her recent behavior wasn’t a surprise. The alternative to that is that they’re involved and I do NOT believe the grandparents have anything to do with whatever has happened to Caylee.
My first issue is this. I know that if I got a letter from the police stating my car had been impounded and I hadn’t heard from my daughter in weeks, I would race there. I also know that if I then saw my daughter’s purse was in the front seat, I would scream hysterically that something HAD to be wrong because my daughter wouldn’t leave her purse in the front seat of the car and then desert the car.
I would NOT calmly go home and start cleaning out the car looking for “clues” to where she might be on my own. Whether the inside of the car smelled or just the trunk, I don’t know, but if I smelled that smell, I wouldn’t keep LOOKING for my daughter on my own. I’d be on the phone with the police and screaming my head off until I got a few cruisers showed up at my door.
Oh, I forgot. I would have never left the impound lot with the car to start with.
So somehow, after getting the car back with Casey’s purse, Cindy and George set about cleaning the car and then Cindy decides to do some laundry. (Again, I do NOT think that the grandparents are involved, but this is not the normal way I would expect a mother to act after not being able to reach her daughter for weeks and then finding her car deserted with her purse!) I wouldn’t have time to do laundry. I would be hysterical.
So what does this mean?
To me, it means they are used to Casey’s “theatrics” and drama.
I also wonder…
1. Why was there never an Amber Alert issues?
2. Why didn’t the police immediately come to the house when they heard a 2 yr old was missing? (Why did it take 3 phone calls from Cindy to get them there?)
3. Why does it seem like there was never truly an active search by law enforcement for this little baby?
Harry … thank you for the link.
There was a statement on there that speculated the Florida bail bondsman may pull out .. I did not know any of this. However the other bail bondsman are trying to get the court to make her wear two monitors one would be a GPS locater the other would be the standard ankle bracelet. I hope the bail bondsman gets cold feet and walks away from this. He has already got a ton of free publicity. I hope he decides it is just not worth the hassle .
typo on name in the first line…
Arleen,
If the bailbondsmen are pulling out, perhaps they are coming to the reality that she may not come home in 5 days, as they have stated. Perhaps, she may never come home at all.
Harry, Yes, thank you so much for the link, I am checking it all the time.
Ellbee,
Possible answers:
1. There probably was never an Amber Alert issued, because to this day no one knows if she has been kidnapped. The mother said she left Caylee with a babysitter, thus letting the police focus on one specific person with a name, at one specific location. By the time they found out that was a lie, it was too late for an Amber Alert. Besides, she had already been missing for a month before the police were alerted.
2. George Anthony (the grandfather) is an ex-cop. The first call that Cindy made was NOT about her granddaughter, it was about her daughter and then she called them back to say that she had communicated with her daughter, but she had not seen her granddaughter in over a month. (31 days to be exact). That was when they sprang into action. They had to locate Casey to find out more. And since she was not going to cooperate, they had very little to work with.
3. The police took Casey to the apartment complex so that she could show them where she had dropped of Caylee at the babysitters. Dead end. Then she took them on a wild goose chase to Universal Studios where she told them that she had told a couple of her coworkers what had happened to Caylee and they were helping her do her own search. Once they get to the door of the office where she supposedly worked, she confesses that she hadn’t worked there for 2 years. She wasted precious time for them.
They have collected samples, tested DNA, dragged lakes and ponds, collected more samples and DNA, brought in cadaver dogs…what more do you expect the police to do? Especially when they have the one person in custody that can crack the case wide open and she won’t talk.
Also, I believe that the grandfather does not know. I believe that he truly believes the lie that she has been kidnapped. But I do not believe for one minute that Cindy Anthony is that innocent. I think she knows exactly what happened and she does not want to lose her daughter, too. So she is protecting her daughter and playing along with the charade.
By the way, you are right, their house was going into foreclosure long before this occurred. Could this all be a ploy to collect the reward money to pay the mortgage? And did you know that Cindy and George Anthony are divorced? Yep…in 2007. Some have the idea that this might be a ploy on Cindy’s part to bring her husband back home. Looks like it’s working so far.
YOURTURNTOHELP,
In the opening post YOU wrote”The Anthony family has RETAINED a spokesman, named Larry Garrison, known for his work on other high profile cases.”
My question is, if the Anthony’s do not have any money (as you so sternly informed me) then define RETAINED and who is paying the RETAINER? Where are you receiving your information from? Do you know for a fact that the Anthony’s do NOT have any money?
YOURTURNTOHELP,
In an effort to provide you with information from your own area, this just in from Fox 35 WOFL Orlando, it looks as if Casey Anthony’s paperwork should be finally processed around 3pm this afternoon. If it is, she should be bailed out today, Wednesday, August 20, 2008. There was no mention of where she would be going.
If and when I find sources that you might not be aware of from other parts of the United States,(although I cannot imagine you being that uniformed), I will be delighted to give you the source, the link and provide the message. Then you may contact those sources and tell them their information is erroneous. But it is rather foolhearty to shoot the messenger.
Just found some interesting information on “Brian’s Prediction”link on this very website. The information is dated 8.14.08 and it is from a person by the name of NICOLE. She writes and i quote, “There have been a lot of questions in regards to the FATHER of Caylee & there have even been suggestions that George is the father & if you calculate the time when Cindy & George were trying to divorce and Caylee’s birth date that’s around the time Casey had just found out she was pregnant. This could clearly be the reason why they are not coming clean about the “birth-FATHER-George”.”
Please bear in mind, these are not my words, they are thoughts and words of others. I just thought this information was interesting and wanted to share it.
I think everyone should click onto this link and read every word of every day. It is very enlightening and informative. Who are we to say it is not so? Right YOURTURNTOHELP?
I guess the bondsman came through for Casey and she will be out sometime tomorrow.
I think letting Casey out of jail is a very sad thing but I hope it works.
I thnik Casey Anthony should be under the jail and stay there. I think she know exactly what happened to Caylee and where she is. I do think her mother knows something and is scared to “lose her daugther”, but she has been lost for a long time.
Let her out? I am amazed. I hope and pray that this precious child is alive and well. Why is this mother not talking? I cannot wrap my brain around this! How could any mother let this go this far? It breaks my heart when I hear of this kind of thing. If a parent is so overwhelmed, why can’t they do the right thing and place their child with someone that would love and cherish their babies? Is there anyone out there that can explain this to me?
